Yep looks like a beat to hell merc. I got a clad dime in change the other day that looked almost as bad. Super thin.

I'd agree that it's a Merc. But it's really been through the ringer. Still counts as a silver!!
Don't scrub it. Soak it in OTC ammonia for five minutes at a stretch and brush it with an old toothbrush because on the blowups I think I can see a date.
