Here is part two of the night when Mark found his 4 ounce nugget.  A couple more nice pieces popped out that night

I can't believe that!  I was not expecting you guys to find more nuggets.  I honestly thought part 2 would have YOUR standard seated find (which are awesome). Congrats to you guys!
I guess I better bite the bullet and go Minelab.

Don't tell Todd Hoffman from Gold Rush what your finding there.  They didn't find that much gold in the ground on their first season.

Congrats again and thanks for sharing!!!!!

Really amazing. That is some spot! You guys deserve every bit of what you're finding, as I'm sure a LOT of research went into finding that place. Furthermore, digging out your way isn't easy, what with the rock hard ground, the excessive heat, etc. KUDOS, fellas!!! Ron, curious...

What do those nugs register on the Minelab? I mean, gold normally comes up in the lower VDI ranges, but, these things are huge! I'm pretty sure you guys are digging anything that peeps...even iron, yes?

Joe, I'm gonna make you watch the video again.   The answer is within!!

No, not digging all  iron and I think that is why we are finding these nuggets.  They are hidden in the iron and have been passed over by previous nugget hunters and the PI machines.

The discrimination is the key to these sites.  (my theory anyway)

Ron, yes, I saw the one in the video came up roughly 12-39, however, my question is...

Is that the norm? These pieces are pretty big, so, I'm guessing that's why the higher VDI's? The shapes are erratic, too; flat, oblong, etc. On a small nug (a few pennyweights), what would they normally ring up as on the CTX?

Joe,

All of our big nuggets  hit around 12: 39-40 on the CTX.  But the smaller stuff will hit all over the place.  I dug a 1 dwt piece that hit down around 12 and Marks 8 dwt specimen was around 15.  (Nickel) so they are just random depending on size.

We find them because we are digging everything from foil on up in our sites so we get lucky!!

But don't think that we don't get excited now when we see a deep 12-39 !!

12-39 has been LUCKY 4 times now!! Wink
