Key date Mercury 1921-d

Got out Friday for three hours. The top 2 inches was frozen in spots but not too bad. The four coins were in the same hole. I found the quarter and put it on top of the dirt and called Joe over. He noticed some more shiny and it turned out to be two war nickels and a key date 1921 d in fair condition (1,080,000). The nickels and Merc were real crusted from being up against each other for 70 years. I don't like to clean coins too much but I had to use electrolysis in order to see the dates. Think I might have used a little too much but I'm not selling them. Silver #'s 50, 51and 52 and 53 FTY if you count war nickels as silver. #48 a Merc was found last week (not shown).

Great finds for a spill!! Real glad you were able to get out. May go out Monday here as they're saying 52 or 56 F for the day. Congrats also on breaking 50 FTY. It's getting harder and harder to accomplish.

Good job Gerry. Looks like your good year is ending on a high note. A silver coin spill is a pretty neat trick. Hope the days after Christmas are favorable for a couple of more hunts.
