If you know someone that uses an F70/F75, they would be able to tell you based on a readout that's on their screen. If you don't, you can always do a magnet test...

Pull the magnet through an area with the type of dirt most common in your area. Do it for a minute or two. Ferrous and conductive salts cohabitate together. You might see little iron flakes or filings attached to the magnet. There's a map, which I'll try to find in my folders, which gives a good breakdown on areas around the US with high mineralization. It might not be super specific to your area, but, will be a good guide. BTW...

This is why it's important to have a manual ground balance unit, versus automatic GB. If one has bad ground, being able to tune the GB to offset the problem dirt is super important.

Let me see if I can find that map...

Joe

Here's the map. Remember, this should only give you a general idea. Soil conditions in your area may be better or worse, however, this maps been around a while, and is pretty accurate as it was put out by government surveyors. The darker specks mean heavy mineralization, while the lighter specks mean little to no mineralization.
