One lonely silver

..a big one though. Same park as yesterday. It was 22 degrees when I got there. This coin was deep and it didn't give the standard silver numbers on the CTX. The CO readings were in the upper 30's. I thought it would be an indian head penny. The depth reading was also off at 7" reported by the CTX. You can tell from my digger it was well over 7".

Sweet coins and congrats!!

A Seated Half is fantastic and a coin that eluded me for a very long time!! Nothing like seeing a big old silver in the plug or hole!! WTG!

Was it in the side off the hole? One pic shows it in the side and if it was on edge that will throw off your pinpoint and the depth reading.

Nice. Maybe lonely find but I'm sure it's not lonely now in your collection. I would love to find a silver half and would flip over a seated. Great find.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was right where I have my digger in the picture. My pinpointing was off. It wasn't on edge, but not totally laying flat either.

Sorry I saw that rock on the side of the hole and first thought that was the half hiding there. Now i see the half at the bottom.

Very cool find!

Cool coin

that park seems to never quit giving up mid 19th century coinage

sure wish the parks around here produced stuff like that!
