Plantation Iron

Well the slave tag kind of trumped all my finds but here are a few really cool relics that should not be overlooked.

I dig big iron on purpose in these sites and am often rewarded with some great finds

I particularly like the Belt trade ax. (2 pics one to show size) Found in a Rev war camp site with the lock.

the Key is fantastic. Key was found in the slave cabin area. Kinda crazy!!

The 2nd belt/bag ax was found in the slave cabin area as well. I cooked all these in my electrolysis tank for a couple days and they cleaned up well.

Also have 1/2 of a 6 pound cannon ball that is cooking now.

Thanks and hope you enjoy the iron!!

Really nice digging Ron. I have always liked the old tools and the two axes look great. I hope you'll put the lock and key in a nice display box for show in your office; they deserve a little extra admiration.

Yeah that slave tag is pretty hard to top, dude. Lol. I think the skeleton key takes it, for me anyways. I have yet to find one and that one is gorgeous!

Congratulations on Iron that is worth digging. Nice job on cleaning them up too. Don't think i have ever dug up any iron worth cleaning. I found, a old forgotten metal foot trap once by a tree I cleaned up. Anyway, i would be excited to find those. Happy hunting.
