Some more finds from yesterday. Torture device?
Quote this message in a reply
I dug this mean little fork looking thing right near where I got the wheatie yesterday.  Maybe it's a surgical tool or a mad man's torture device.  I don't know.  The other three things pictured were laying right on the surface.  An old mini rail spike that has to be well over 100 years old and one of the original style pulltabs from the 60s.  That's the first of that style pulltab that I have found and it was just laying there.  Crazy that things that old are laying right in plain view and I'm digging 8" for aluminum screw caps and clad coins.

That is an old pull tab! I think that 'torture device' thing might be for a barbecue, something to pick up meat & stuff. It looks newer, but, just a guess.

Has it been hot by you? The heat & humidity has been off the hook here!!!

That thing is real short to be a cooking utensil.
The weather here has been beautiful this weekend.  70s and sunny.  My favorite weather.
Here is a link for those interested in the history of our friend the pulltab. http://www.rustycans.com/HISTORY/zips.html

Either a pickle fork or fondue fork.

Yeah that pulltab is a keeper.  I'm working on an evolutionary line of tabs.

LOL Well Will, that'll be a first in the annals of MD'ing. You could put it one of those display boxes showing the dates of manufacture and such. It could be a reference for all of us serious detectorists.Chuckle (sarc)

It may take some serious research and many conversations with expert aluminologists, but I will get it done and make the cover of one of them md magazines.
