Squeeked out another in a metal filled lot
Quote this message in a reply
Got out this morning with my friend Jim for a few hours clearing a large house lot in north Vegas. The amount of metal in this lot was crazy. Nails, bottle caps, aluminum, copper, brass even lead. I was cleaning sections at a time. My first good find was a pot leaf belt buckle,1970 Vegas token,1994 one pence,1958-d rosie, brass bell,Fairway chevy belt buckle, airforce wings. found 5 marbles, only took pic of best one. pile of metal is all brass and copper. Thanks for lookin!

That's a COOL buckle!!! As are the rest of the finds Yes Some stoner was either real pissed losing that thing, or he didn't even realize it...I'd bet it was the latter, lol. When it's REAL trashy, like machine gun fire on every sweep, do you simply move to another area, or slow way down and try to work between the junk?

Nice finds Leo. I'll bet you're style is a lot like mine. Take a section and dig everything out of it. Then start looking for the good stuff. But I dig a lot of iron on a comparative level. Nice pile of brass and copper!!

I can deal with moderate trash, but that machine gun crap with bottle caps and other junk strewn about on the top of the ground is the pits. If we're talking hunting heavy iron in a spot that's 100, 150 years old, where there's going to be old stuff between the trash, I'm game, but sifting through heaps of modern surface garbage isn't my cup of tea. And as much as I love the Minelab"s, there would be about 10 other machines better suited for the job. Speed is key. I've never used the Racer, but I did use the AT Gold on a couple of my spots that had heavy iron, and MAN, that thing was like a laser beam cutting through the junk. Sniffed out quite a few goodies. Just wish it was a tad deeper.

Leo, clean up or shine up that buckle.....there are plenty of legal states these days so you probably will get a good price for that buckle! Congratulations
