Today's Hunt

My buddy and I hit a field today that we've hunted before. Got a '45 Merc, two Wheats, two Memorials and a couple buttons. Nothing special but was nice to be able to get out for a couple hours.

I've been detecting for 15 years or so now. I primarily hunt colonial sites, woods and fields. My main detector is a CTX3030. Also have an ATPro and an Excal II, 10" for the beaches.

I think mercs are special Yes Silver is silver is silver. After all my years of digging, I still get excited seeing a merc or barber in the hole. Yeah, I'd prefer older, but we are rescuing these beautiful coins from the ground. A real precious metal. And we have the privilege to be the first to touch them in 50 or 100 years.

Nice digs, Joe!!!
