What is this button

It's small like a cuff link button but it's a round little ball. It came from a farm where I have dug a lot of flat buttons
(20-30) and what I think is a couple Civil War buttons.

That would be a Zouave or "ball button" They were quite popular during the early 1800s and somewhat fizzled out around 1830, probably with the introduction of the more mass produced flat buttons. Cool find. I have a button dating chart somewhere. I'll post it as soon as I find it...nevermind ..I found it Happy
