Got out today to two new spots for about 5 hours total. $1.95 in clad, 3 mems and 2 wheats, 1-1940 and 1-1946. Found this lead Hippo toy, nicked it, of course, from vintage 1940's (Link at ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1940s-se...35d6308483)

And 3 dog tags belonging to what must have been same dog named Shilo within a 2 square foot area. I blocked out the owners phone number JIC.

Going for it again tomorrow. HH out there!!

Cool Hippo
Thanks for all the nice replies fellas. Learning that the Hippo may have come from Germany and that there was one company in England as well. Which is interesting. Because it was part of a set. They were imported to the States though. But what if a soldier from WWII brought them home after the war for his child? Wouldn't that be something? Some of the stuff you find really makes you wonder.
I enjoy finding dog tags! Nice finds, especially the hippo. Must of hit loud, lol
