Hello Mike and welcome I am from central Wisconsin and travel to Illinois a few times a year as I have a friend north of Bloomington we go detecting often. There are lots of spots to go detecting in Illinois as there are lots of houses not there anymore the secret is to find them and get permission to detect. I don't know where you are in central Illinois but there is a club in Bloomington called the nuggeteers I know a lot of them. Happy Hunting
