all beach finds just walking and detecting the beach .
the Mastodon tooth chip popped out while digging.
the mid size tooth next to the Megalodon was found walking on some woods trails
about 2 miles from the beach i think they paved the paths with beach shells at one time, may explain why it was in the woods so far from the beach .
Jacksonville old Mayport jetties all the way at the end of the beach park
a great place for finding sharks teeth, for anyone visiting Jax ...
and if your into snorkelling, just off the tip of the jetties about 30 feet ,
was an island, its just under water now. but it is a tooth magnet ...
H.H ...
Just wanted to add a couple pictures for anyone not familiar with dinosaur fossils
the top tooth is from a Mastodon which was a very large Elephant type dinosaur that died out approx 10,000 years ago and lived from 10,000 to 27 million years ago.
the large shark tooth is a small juvenile Megalodon shark which lived approx 65 million years ago
