pulled up one large part of a brass buckle. and a really cool tiny buckle that i was able to free up the pin on so it moves freely now really happy about that.
not too often i find them complete and still moveable. pulled up one Crosby silver plate spoon and an old copper or brass spoon, first copper or brass spoon i have ever dug up. so another cool find for the collection. dug up two bullet slugs, and what looked to be a bullet but it is not, it has a ring around the base and what looks to be a threaded shaft going into the inside bottom of it. so maybe some kind of pointed cap to something . also a piece of what looks like the corner to a wooden chest.
it is copper plating over wood, and a corner to something. as stated looks to be the corner of a large wooden chest. and a monster moulded lead sinker ...
and almost got ran over by my second deer in the woods in two weeks.
and been chased of twice by wild hogs as well ...
may have to start carrying a rifle while im metal detecting ... getting a bit crazy in the woods right now ...
Here are a few angles, and samples of other bullets i find, it is not lead. it is brass or something much harder. but appears to have something iron threaded into the base
and a rim or ring around the base as well. not like any bullets i have found ...

Thank you ..I started shooting some video the other day. but batteries died, once i get a few good digs on video ill piece it all together and should have one real soon.
the spot i got the tiny buckle from was pinging everywhere , but whatever is down there is under several roots bigger than my thigh ... its the same spot where i got the 1918 merc yesterday. i just cant get into it without an ax or chain saw.

yep, lightly wiped the back of the buckle, it has a patent number. Pat 7?939
dug up in my colonial site.
no luck so far id`ing the designer or patent owner. that would likely positively ID it with a ten year period ...

PAT 79959 .. i tried if it is a British patent it wont be listed here, i tried doing a search on a couple of the UK patent sites with no luck
U.S. patent for that number on that site only goes back to 1868, so it would have to be before that time as it is for another item, from what i understand patents numbers where issued for a certain time period, and then the number can be re used
for another person and item.
