I believe in most cases if the authorites see that you respected the property such taking the trash away and filling holes most would would overlook it.

all depends where your trying to dig.
we have spots that offer up real nice $20,000 fines and 5 years in jail
if caught digging even without a detector preseant ...
doesn`t even matter if all you dug was dirt and didn`t find squat ...
so always best to know the rules of your digging zone or spot.
some places you can squeeze by, others are BIG no no`s ...
and remember, breaking the rules and getting caught digging in the wrong
spots, not only hurts the person doing it, but the hobby as a whole ...
