well, a week or two ago i posted the 3rd axe head i have found so far in my colonial site, and they just keep getting bigger.
was skipping most the iron, decided to pull up this piece and it was another axe head,

also got a sweet colonial button and a handful of round musket balls and minie balls,
i`ll post them in a little bit.

Note the nail sticking out the side of the larger axe head. looks like it had
a nail driven into the side to hold the head in place . ( photo 2 )
Man Bones, that's a whopper! Any idea as to age?

no idea of the age. the area was first settled around 1565
the area i hunt has not been developed or had anything built 
or new home sites that i know of in well over 100 years. 
so anywhere between the late 1500`s to late 1800`s .
