Very interesting post, thank`s for the info Ron . also thank you StevieB for the info on the British coinage. very interesting.
i think the oldest British coin i currently own is a 1901 copper one penny.
not silver and likely rates somewhere on your trash coins list, but i love it just the same .

nothing wrong with that penny bones.....its in good condition so it would be a keeper
in my books ....ok it would not go in the good keeper box. but still a nice find.

so many copper coins here are just blank discs ..with the amount of rubbish
going in the ground ...it just eats away at the coins....
