I have to agree with the above statements , it is ALL about location ...
try and hit outside the normal hunting locations where others may be hitting ,
your chances of making more interesting finds may be much better .
you mention your not into relics, if you mainly hit beaches and common parks, they are often hunted by many other people, keep in mind, some of these older locations
" relic locations " also contain the older coins ... you can always send those unwanted relics my way ... try researching and hunting some older sites for those older coins ...
i really hope you start hitting what you seek, the difference between hitting coins and better finds or not can honestly be as simple as swinging outside the fence line as opposed to inside the fence line ....
