60th Regiment of Foot, the Royal Americans 1755 -1756 pewter button.
In 1775-76, companies of the 2nd and 4th Battalions
( found a few feet from the 1775 british half penny, found a few days ago )

few other pewter buttons, and a flat brass button . no back marks on any of them ...

Following the Revolutionary war, The 60th Regiment was much later designated as the King’s Royal Rifle Corps by the War of 1812
I believe the other button i found with the "Rifle" on it would be from when the 60th Regiment "Royal Americans" changed to the Royal Riffle Corps

the 60th Regiment was a special selected group of soldiers trained for fighting in the forests and woodland warfare.
