I've had my pro pointer for about a year and a half with no complaints. I also think the water proof is nice but I've had mine in all types of water. Keeps on trucking along

Same here. Through water, mud, etc. No issues. Just as with detectors though, I'm sure there are ones that leave the factory not up to par with the rest of the batch...the proverbial bad apple.
