This is a sweet heart of a coin to me has lots of character. First lets look at the three holes I am thinking maybe button or possibly gambling token, I have heard from others that is what they did to some for slot machines?
Then what I really like is the three 7's stamped in again I am thinking gambling.
But I don't think I will ever  know for sure, what's you ideas.
This was found by the political token.

I don't know why it has 3 holes or those 7's, but that is an INCREDIBLE find, Steve!!! I'm sure you've pounded that area, since finding that, yes? If not, I think you need to. The 7's being there from a back room saloon casino would kinda make sense, but just a guess. I never found a stamped coin. That would make me VERY happy! Kudos Beer

Very cool counter stamped and holed coin!! Very unique and mysterious!! LOL
Steve, I'm sitting here looking closely at those holes, and it almost appears as if someone shot them out with a BB gun, which I don't think they had in the mid 1800's, lol. Very strange. And then those 7's. A head scratcher, for sure.

Joe
Ya Joe have hit this spot many times, and it still produces a little bit once in a while.
Normally I don't post to many finds but I will post some more of the stuff I have found there over the years. Seeing that I cannot get out for a while Have found coins to gun parts, Buttons, pipes, rings., etc.

It is Winter, and two thirds of the country is suffering from a bad case of nodetectingitis! I urge ALL of you, post ANYTHING, even if it's from 2014 or earlier...I'm going f@$king nuts!!! Drunk

Joe
That is a great find Steveo! I don't know about the gambling part of it, but could it be a coin converted to a string whiz toy? You know, thread a loop of string through it, spin the string tight and then pull each end of the loops to make the coin spin in the center. Just a guess but a fabulous find. Have no idea what the 7's are for.

Ed
That's an awesome coin. I'm sure it could tell some stories. If only coins could talk.
Great find . Don't have a clue why the 7's or holes but something to think about .
Nice find! Yes
