We're all history guys here. We appreciate it. I don't think one could get items of more personal nature than those, I mean, a lock of hair! Wow. Question...
If you were a multi millionaire, would you drop that kinda coin on stuff like that? I would in a heartbeat. Not sure if it would be Lincoln related, though. Probably more along the lines of sunken treasure, maybe some pop culture memorabilia, etc. But...
I don't think anything is better (or less expensive, lol) that finding it & digging it

Some people have too much money.
I'm a cynic and I hope whoever bought the stuff makes me eat my words by donating the items to a museum ---even if the reason is just that they use the donation as a tax right off.

At least the money is being put back into circulation, which helps stimulate the economy. Most people are sitting on their cash now, what with the economic uncertainty. So, any money pumped backed into the system is good. It redistributes, and supports tens, if not hundreds of other businesses.
I, for one, am not sour apples if someone has "too much" or more than me. So long as they earned it legally, and use some of it for good, more power to them. What's the alternative? Coasting through life with no goals and shooting for poverty? What's the use in that?
