Some of the old hands on here might know this, but some newer to the hobby might not. There is a way to "tune" your Garrett Propointer to almost double the sensitivity depth. Watch the video to see the set-up. I'll update this post later with full instructions on how to make the assembly, although it's pretty simple Happy

I seen the vid but have not tryed it yet
It's an invaluable trick--I use a similar set up but I use a copper ferrell out of a 1/4" compression fitting and flatten it on a piece of cable tie--makes a nice button easy to slide with gloves on. I hunted with one guy that cut the top off of a thumbtack and put it in his glove fingertip and used that the same way. This is one of the cooler ideas I've seen but finding antennae that short is tough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEMynUPuwDM
first time I seen the one with the antenna. way cool
Thanks, good video!
Great tip, no pun intended. Thanks for sharing
I've done it with a quarter but like this method. Thanks Joe
I know a couple of guys that do the nickel trick but I never saw its use to be of a lot of value. But I'm sure that the guys out there with the TRX could talk me out of that being it has such tip sensitivity. I'd say if the ground was "Clean" enough, it's a good option to use.
Yes I have done this with a coin and works well but I like the idea this guy has
Yes Joe I have seen this before from one of the old hands. lol
