12 years ago i worked on the freeways in California for caltrans, we were fixing a guard-rail at 4 in the morning. we saw a meteorite come down and explode above the field right next to us. got off work at 7:30 and went over there and detected for an hour and found one of the pieces. Yep, it exploded into a bunch of pieces and I saw about where one hit in a freshly plowed field on the other side of the fence. A little puff of dirt flew up next to a concrete sisturn in the field.
