Hello all - I was wondering how many of us have a favorite beach to hunt?
Ocean or bay or even a lake beach, and the reason why you like it?

I live in NJ and we have plenty of ocean, bay and lake beaches.
My favorite one is Atlantic City beach along the casino area - I like this site because - it is old - boardwalk was one of the firsts if not the first - but no brag here - I don't own it.....
I like Alantic City beaches because it is beautiful to hunt along the shore - you see these huge beautiful hotels right there beside you as you hunt.
There are always plenty ships or sail boats out in the ocean and finally to me it seems peaceful.
I don't travel there often - it's over a two hour drive - lazy me

What is your favorite beach and why?
Since living in Jersey, I've mostly hit Pt. Pleasant, as it's only 50 minutes or so away. It's okay, I've gotten gold there before, but there is a fair amount of iron. The problem with it is, I enjoy hunting IN the water, up to maybe waist deep, and you just can't do that there, as the surf is too rough, like most NJ beaches. So...

My all time favorite is Coney Island in Brooklyn. Two main reasons...

On one side is black/spanish, and on the other it's Russian. All of them love jewelry, and, even better, love showing it off on the beach Wink

Also, the water there is basically still, almost like a lake. I can go chest deep if I want and not have to worry about rogue waves and all that stuff.

Being able to get a hot dog from the original Nathan"s is pretty cool, too.

You're right about AC though. Check out Surf Diggers videos or FB page. Brian May is his name I think. He's known for hunting that area.

Don't do much beach hunting. Been on both NY and NJ beach's. I do wildwood beach in the fall when I'm at the firemen's convention. Have done well there.
Tried some at Lake Erie but it's not my style. Although I'm jealous of you guys who can go out in the summer and cool off with sand crabs, fleas and nettles. That must be real fun, brushing blown sand out of your teeth when you get home. I'll take the mud. Rinses out better.Chuckle

Ed, you are right, weeks later I am still dumping sand out of my sneakers
