OMG-that is so awesome, and right under our feet all this time!
BOOM BABY! Sorry I couldn't resist. That is an awesome find. The fact that they know it is one of 2 guns that blew up on those specific dates is amazing.
Can't even imagine one of those things actually blowing up but it's an amazing find! That's a real good story Tony. It shows us that there's stuff down there that tells a story of the past. I would love to be on a dig like that one!

Yeah, I agree with you all.......that BOOM probably took out a few colonial folks, wow what a way to go. Blasted to pieces in an instant.
Yeah, right under our feet/noses and yu are right it's still out there.....
I can't wait for some rain and I hope I have free time when it does happen.
Oh wow these might have been American solders who died when this cannon blow up!
The ground-penetrating radar "revealed a substantial piece of breached American cannon," Janofsky said. "What is interesting about this find is that we know during the battle, an American cannon experienced a breech failure, killing 12."
"We frequently remember the high number of Hessian casualties, but forget 14 American soldiers died in that battle," she said. "This is a substantial find."
