[attachment=7814]I found this on Thurs. Can't get a date unless I scrap away the corrosion. It was found in a hole along with 5 wheats which accounts for the crud. I'll just leave it alone.
Yeah, that was a cool dig...5 wheats AND a silver in the hole. Obviously a pocket spill, and maybe some kid's lunch money back then. If you don't want it due to the corrosion, I'm always taking silver collections Chuckle

Congratulations on # 7 and the wheat cents!
Joe gave us a formula - aluminum foil, spit on both sides, fold and open in two or three minutes. Then take it out and rub with baking soda - it worked on a beach mercury dime for me but mine was pitted and no date visible - it was shiny though.
Yours might have a date on it.

Is there a mint mark on the back?
