Depends on the situation . Leaving is probably the easy way to defuse the problem . Normally you would never come to blows with me unless someone layed there hands on me or tried to take my equipment . Always be aware of your enviroment your hunting and don't be intimidated but on the same point try to blend in with your suroundings . We are not criminals or vandals remember that and it doesn't hurt to have good ethics along with a simple smile the next time your asked "What you doin Mister" .

Rat, is 110% correct Wink Always obey the rules & represent the hobby in a good light. If I am asked to leave a spot (which has only happened once in all my years doing this), best to simply pack up your stuff & go. Finding an old coin or two isn't worth any hassle or aggravation. However, whenever approached, don't be afraid to politely challenge authority, either. Simply ask if there are any specific rules or ordinances against metal detecting at that location. Most of the time, there isn't. Just tell the person who stopped you that you are looking for coins to add to your collection. Then show the trash in your pouch & tell them nobody would ever know you were there once you leave, since you fill in all your holes. Most folks just tell you to be neat, wish you luck & tell you to go on your way Happy
