I was lazily looking thru flee-bay and ran across this wonderfully overpriced detector. I read the whole ad to make sure I wasn't missing something. At the bottom of the description, there is even the suggested retail price in big bold red numbers.

I am flabbergasted that apparently 14 folks have bought one of these at this price. Or maybe that's just a trick to make us think that someone else got one and we should too. Headbang

Some idiot will pay it. The only reason bullcrap listings like that even exist, is because they obviously work. People don't do research, they're careless, etc. P.T. Barnum was ahead of his time Yes

Joe
Man, that is simply unbelievable!! Somebody must be burning up a credit limit for that. Maybe it's a typo??? Maybe it's supposed to be $167. You're right about old PT Joe!! And just to make things interesting, I'll make bet they're refurbs!!!

Ed
He sells Bounty Hunters for over $1000 as well.

His feedback shows no $1000 detectors sold that I could see.
If you click on the amount of Compad sold 14, you will see he actually sold one at $167.00. So he must have bought them himself and refunded the money back to himself. Think I remember selling an item I had three of, one sold, postage was too high for the buyer overseas, so we cancelled the transaction but it still showed 1 sold. There must be some loophole found to inflate the sales.

now check out his sales, apparently giving a discount on the invoice.

Scott, remember, you're dealing with a public that will buy a piece of toast because Elvis Presley's image "magically" appears on it. It's a miracle, Agnes! (Cue the church organs) Chuckle

Joe
IN the "early" days of ebay, you could sell a common square nail for $10.00.
$10 was worth a lot more than it is today. People would buy anything.

Ebay is not anywhere near the same as it was back then, after 2007 starting going down hill.

Now you have to watch the scam sellers and scam bidders and scam products.
Still has honest sellers, honest buyers and honest products. Just have to be more careful.

Before 2007
That was the time many collectibles that were considered rare to see and now very common. Brought in the big bucks.....
It was a great time, for 6 years all I did was buy and sell collectibles on ebay............no need for a full time job working for some one...high profits.

I feel it is a typo and he didn't realize it. If you scroll down you will see another price for the same item.
