Diggers, this site has a blog, too, in case anyone didn't notice, although, admittedly, not much work has gone into it, as I've preferred to concentrate my energies on the forum, which to me, is infinitely more important. However...

I'd like to start making use of the blog real estate, and could use some help.

IMO, a blog written by a single individual, in one voice, with a singular bent, is of little use, and not very informative, to boot. Much better to have many people, of different mindsets, with differing viewpoints at the podium, with each sharing their take on our hobby. So...

If anyone is interested in writing an article for the blog, please PM me. Here are the details...

*They need to be approximately 1,000 to 1,500 words in length, give or take.

*They can be on any topic you choose, within the metal detecting/treasure hunting hobby.

*Must be 100% original, and you must attest to so, in writing (this prevents any misappropriated works from around the internet).

I will go through the submitted articles, pick the one's that will work best for the blog, and publish those online. So, not every article will get featured. Of the one's that do...

The author will receive 500 TC coins, once the article is posted, though, the coins are only a minor 'thank you'. The real gift is in giving back, in the form of your accumulated history.

Feel free to submit as many articles as you wish, for consideration.

I believe we all have a unique viewpoint, or take, on this hobby. And I always try to get you guy's involved here, as much as possible. So, if you want to share some of your experience, some of your knowledge, some of your know-how, here's your chance Happy

I'll be attempting to write up something inspirational to beginner detectorists. Where I was just 2-3 months ago. Treasureclassifieds and the members that have helped me through hard times detecting and the learning process, answering all my questions. Without you all, I've probably of given up months ago and sold my detector. I'd like to give back what has been given to me and possibly reduce the turn around rate of beginners. Even if it just helps one!

That's the spirit, Zach Yes I believe your perspective of writing as someone newer to the hobby, will indeed help to inspire many...whether they're just getting started, or have been doing this for 20 years.

Knock it out of the park!

Come on guys, let's see those articles Yes

Joe
Where's those articles, guys!? Only Shade has come through, so far, and I'm hoping others follow suit. It's a GROUP effort, and just one article by a single member doesn't warrant keeping the blog going.

Do we ALL not have a voice in this hobby, or is it only Shade & I?

The blog is important because, as Zach mentioned to me a while back, we need to concentrate on helping some of those newer to the hobby, in the way of information, and these personal stories might provide a bit of know-how and/or inspiration to them.

Sometimes a good effort is the best start Wink

If you can't write very well, no problem, Blog Boss can edit so it sounds wonderful..............

I chicken peck at the keyboard, takes me forever to write a long winded......
many times think faster than I can type and the dang spell check keeps telling me my words are mis-spelled. Come think now I am a bad speller. In reality Canadian English is almost like British English, I am used to American English.
Color=colour for example.
I set my computer to American English, doesn't seem to matter seeing my internet provider is in Canada as I.

Here's a sampling what I  am up against
