Dose anyone recognize the pattern or have an idea what the ornate square item might be?
Thanks for lookin'
Your unknown may be a Victorian era furniture escutcheon. Great finds!
According to Ed Cook and Bruce Hazelman of ECRDA in NJ ---- it is a UMO....

Unidentified Metal Object.......

I don't know what it is but it is old, cool find...

Looks like owlson it,maybe a cloak pin or something???
I don't know Cap! I'd go with Viper though. Does it have a missing pin on the back?

Ed
What does the back look like? Any traces of hooks/pins/loops? Maybe a button, or a 1920s women's shoe decoration, though your group of finds looks a little older than I would expect for either of those.
Thanks everyone, there is no trace of anything on the back, just totally flat.
Nothing newer than about 1880 has come from this site.
