Lemon juice really makes any gold gilt just pop! If you dig a button, and you see some gold gilt on it, throw it in lemon juice and check on it every 5 minutes. Brush it off with a soft bristle toothbrush or a q-tip. You'll be amazed with the results! The same is true for gold plated or gilt jewelry, and obviously real gold as well.
