Hey all, I figured I'd make a new post. One specially for one of my finds from my last post, now identified.
I accidently came across these bronze trade weights when I was looking into "lead weights" for the big lead weight in my last thread.
Looking at the images on google I came across something similar to mine, which I wasn't even looking for. Was super excited. I then found a site with a bunch of different trade weights and matched mine up.
I was in disbelief when I saw king Charles the first. I knew he reigned long ago, but not quite sure when. A quick and easy Google search told me 1625-1649!
I couldn't believe it and still can't.
I told you in a recent post, I should have some pretty good finds for you, as I just obtained quite alot of acreage in a very very old part of town. I'm extremely thrilled to have found this and be able to share it with you and I hope I can save and preserve and share more with you all.
This weight was found in a field next to a house that apparently dates back to the 1690s. And this house was once occupied for over 100 years by cassandras relatives.
I hope you all enjoy and happy hunting,
Zach
