Full Version: Metal rocks

Just what the title says. Had an hour so I detected a field beside my house and found these rocks. Came up in the high 60's on the AT pro. Very heavy and like you can see, 2 are shiny and 2are dark. What the heck are they?? I don't believe they're melted.
Did you put a magnet to them ?
I have a very strong searcher magnet (140lbs) and the two darker stones just barely stuck to it and the two shiny ones didn't at all. It's a so strong you can barely get iron off it! Any ideas?
Could be Hematite. Has a similar look and hematite is only mildly magnetic. This is found in Ohio as well.
I don't know, Ron. I've got some hematite from Wyoming, and neither my GMT, or TDI SL can even see it...no target at all.
Not sure what those rocks are.Blushing

I wonder of they're one of the platinum group? They'd be REALLY nice sample if they are.
