Nothing really new just improvements they probably could have marketed 5 years ago but didn't have enough of them until now.
Garrett has decided to use the First Texas playbook of marketing instead of actual ground breaking development.
They will sell lots of them before the MaxII comes out.

I was at one time very interested in the AT Gold as I didn't like the AT Pro , it was missing features of the AT Gold.
From what I have read and seen, the AT MAX is a blend of the Pro and Gold along with some other features, enhancements.
Only $100 more than the AT Gold. With my current arsenal of detectors, don't see the need for the MAX.

Thanks for the update Bob! I'm kind of in agreement with the above comments. I already upgraded to wireless and the backlight is nice, but I can't see spending a chunk of money for what should have been done a while back.
