Found this at the old sheep farm. 2 questions
1- what do you think this is? Brass and looks old.
2- when did they start putting threads on things ?

It's a reign guide off a harness

threads go way back (400bc) but for US it is guess that the early 1800's in when they really started to be used and standardized in the 1840's.
