Full Version: got a pretty neat token myself today

Beautiful weather and some time off from work, had the itch to relic hunt. Was pumped finding this token. The town of Melonees started in the gold rush, and disapeared under Lake New Melonees when the dam was built in the early 1980s. The town got its name by the gold found there...looked like melon seeds. Have the feeling this is a rare token. Ray

Hmmm..for some reason I can't get your link to load up Crosby.
Very nice token! Probably dates to sometime after 1902 when Robinson's Ferry was renamed Melones. The gold rush town of Melones was located elsewhere.

It is one of the slowest web sites out there.
