Found this neat button a few weeks back with the At Max. I got invited to hunt a Union campsite up in Caroline Co. Va. Thanks for looking[attachment=10237][attachment=10237]
Nice button Hanover! Can you determine what it is? Regiment or what? I know Bullet Bob has a book on them. Maybe he'll pop in and give you some info.

Thanks, I have no idea as to regiment or anything. The guy I hunted with had found the usual NY buttons and a nice Rhode Island button along with some sharps bullets.
What an awesome button! Great shape
That's a great find Digger. I'd be interested to know who might have worn it---let us know if you get some info. Thanks for the look-see.
can you show a clear pic of the back so we can see the makers mark/etc?
Here's the back.. Superior Strong Plated[attachment=10239]
Congrats on that early militia button--very cool!
Hanover, that is a terrific find, congratulations. It’s probably listed in Alberts book of military buttons.
Awesome find! Congrats!
