Anyone have a clue on what this is I have found 4 last year on home sited that date to 1865 or so.

Hmmm, I've found a few similar pieces over the years. Is the back threaded by any chance?

I tried hunting down the similar ones I found, but, probably threw'm away. See if it's threaded, as it might be an electrical cap. At least, that's the
theory anyway, lol.

I have found a bunch of those. Usually in old sites!!
Scythe: Where the nib connects to the snath This was at the base of the nib and acted like a lock washer. There was a metal band that went around the snath. You could loosen the metal band via a long bolt through the nib and move the nib to your desired location and tighten it back up for Easy swinging!!
