Hi guys, I don't get out as much as I'd like, but here are a few of my favorites from a couple camps. The small round thing was a surprise...I thought it was some kind of stopper. But I could just barely see some kind of writing. I asked my son if he could read it, he says"5dwt"..No way..I grabbed my gold scale and weighed it..Yep, its a 5 pennyweight weight for a gold scale. The crystal cluster popped up while digging a trash signal. The coin purse snap had me dreaming of Rons cashe! (Actually think that may be a modern one) .I find a lot of axe heads and hammer heads, but never this neat combo..really like it cause I've been swinging a hammer for 25 years. Thanks for looking, Ray

Ooops, here's the pic, lol

Sorry bout making this a cluttered post, its early and I haven't had my Rockstar yet, lol. The powder flask is first I've found with the top, and the rectangle pieces are a match case with patent date of 1867.
That powder flask is phenomenal!!! I'm drooling as I sit here looking at it. Killer finds! Who needs to drink a rockstar?! You ARE a rockstar, Ray Wink I'm guessing the ground is hard & dry out west in these gold camps, so, if I'm correct, are these finds fairly shallow?
Yes its getting very hard. I use a pick. The flask was deep, but in a taling pile of shale mixed with dirt, so pretty loose diggin. Some of the spots I may have to wait till winter.less ticks and rattlers then too.
Great Stuff Ray!

A buddy just dug a flask last week -- 90% there. I only seem to find halves - and not silver halves. Just flask halves. Wink

Yeah , I'm using the big apex pick these days to dig and that can be dangerous to the relics!!

Keep posting the relics!!
