Tesoro Silver was my first detector and I still have it - It's a nice light easy to use machine that will teach you a lot about how to use the coil and discrimination to size up a target.
Lifetime guarantee is a bonus, too.
I would have to say the ace 150 might be better if you are really stuck with compadre as tesoro option.
