Its pretty heavy and looks to have man made slits around it. I've seen some confederate bullets that look similar.

Yep! Shotgun slug! Got a jar full of them. No High Powered Rifle (Deer) hunting in Ohio because the land is mostly flat. So we got em' all over the place.
