Went to the cartwheel hole this morning and managed to get a small convex button and an old desk bell. It was way too muddy after the rain we got, so I decided to hit the abandoned house where I got the silver bracelet. Got a nice 1948 New Brunswick guide hat badge (intact)
, a junk button,
a handful of 40s pennies and nickels and then probably one of the coolest relics I've found so far. I dug this copper case, and what do ya know, it rattles.
Took it home and mangled the top part trying to get it open. Once I got the top off, I was baffled!
I played around with it until I got some of the little parts out, then there was no denying what it was! It's a Whitall, Tadem Co hypodermic needle field kit
You just never know what's in the ground! Thanks for looking and HH
Holy crap that field kit is awesome. Congrats on a wicked cool relic :yes:that hat badge is also a very cool find man.
WOW ! I vote banner on the field kit , that is one of the coolest things I have ever seen dug!
It's kind of strange that I think that is so awesome , I stumbled across several modern hypodermic needles at the lake last summer and it took away my desire to be in the water. But put a little age on them and put them in a cool box and they are cool......
The hat badge is a great find also.

Thanks a bunch guys. I guess I'm drawn to it because of my medical background. I think it's cool as hell. I put it together to show my wife and she just shook her head and said I better not catch AIDS lmao
Awesome day man! Very unique find for sure! Keep up with all the great finds

Wife's are so supportive! Fantastic relic and I love the badge.

The badge is way cool but that field kit is terrific, congratulations!
Congrats on a rare find!
You are the only person next to me that I've ever seen dig one of these field kits
Here's mine from about 3 yrs ago (minus the actual needles).
Yours seems to be in way better shape than mine. I have to do a bit more research, but I did find that the company began in the second half of he 19th century and changed their name in the early 1900s

Mine is 1890s/1900
Found it on the old VA hospital site here in my town. Belonged to a US military surgeon that worked at the hospital during that time period. Found some of his other personal relics on the site too.
