I know its old and it looks like silver. Congratulations! Now go back to that area and get one in better condition. Happy

Being a Michigan man I have no experience in oldies like that. My best was a 1760s half reale , which blew my mind. That coin even in the shape it's in would probably give me a heart attack.

I wish I could help Zach, but something that old is just way out of my experience. Good luck on you ID efforts. It would be sweet, since you're going back, to pull out a similar coin with better lettering etc. to help make the link. Nice find anyway, IDed or not. Looking forward to big news.
