Full Version: Horse tack?

Found this in a section of woods by a Maple tree that had to be 4 feet in diameter. It was in hard clay about 7 or 8" down and rang up like a silver quarter as it seems to be brass. I know it must be some kind of horse tack but what kind and era I don't know. Any info would satisfy my curiosity!

Thanks,
Ed
I never seen one of those and have never dug one either.

It is a cool looking piece of yesterday year! Congratulations
Definitely a rein guide

Further looking says it may be a "gag swivel"

Yep, Thanks Dusty. Someone usually comes through on these ID questions when the rest of us are in the dark.
