Well, today I got a tone I thought was a quarter by sound. The machine said dime. Confused as usual I dug it to see....turns out it was a 1968 Canadian Quarter.
It's not magnetic, so I am thinking it is 50% silver 50% copper..
Probably why other detectorist's didn't dig it.

Tony
Nice dig Tony. I think from your test that you are right on the silver/copper analysis. On a big item like the quarter, that's a lot of silver, even if it is mixed.
Thanks Shade.

Yeah, 50% is a good amount of silver but who knows if they would even accept it at a smelter.

Tony
Congrats Tony! Nice catch! Yes Even here, we don't see many of those.

Ed
Thanks Ed.
We did get them in our change back in the day when we were plenty younger. But this is the first one I have found metal detecing.

No brag at all. just wondering if anyone finds these in the US?
