Went back to another set of woods where I have been about three times but the Winter is the best time to get in it. It's really overgrown. About halfway through my 3 hour hunt came upon a real good tone about four feet from an old cedar tree that was down, with screwy numbers again, and dug up a 1917 Merc about six inches down. Real rooty area too. About a foot away I get another good tone and catch 2 wheats, one a 1919 and the other real toasty. That's the way it is here for the older wheats, LC's, IHP's. Ground just eats em up!
Stay warm and GL & HH!
